For creators, travel agencies & tour operators

Your trip, told like a movie

Turn an itinerary into a cinematic animated map — the classic dashed-line travel effect. Plot your stops, pick a style, export a video ready for Reels, TikTok and YouTube.

Runs in your browser · MP4 / WebM / GIF · 9:16, 1:1, 16:9

Athens → Santorini → Crete, rendered with MAPROUTE's Vintage Explorer preset.

Three steps to a travel-line video

1

Plot your route

Search places or click the map. Reorder stops, rename labels, choose plane, car, train, boat or walk for every hop.

2

Style & preview

Six cinematic presets from parchment Vintage to Neon Night. Scrub the timeline, tune speed and pauses, attach polaroid photos.

3

Export & post

MP4, WebM or GIF in 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 — rendered frame-perfect in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Six styles, one route

All presets are data-driven — recolor lines, pins and fonts freely.

Vintage Explorer

Parchment, dashed red line, serif labels — the Indiana Jones look.

Neon Night

Dark map, glowing gradient line with a subtle pulse.

Clean Minimal

Light gray map, one bold line. Lets your story breathe.

Scrapbook

Muted tones, marker-pen line, made for polaroids.

Corporate

Two brand colors on a neutral canvas. Logo-ready.

Terra Trek

Earthy terrain tones with a desert-orange trail.

Free to make. Cheap to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the exported videos commercially?

Yes. The basemap is built from OpenStreetMap data (ODbL license), which allows commercial use. Every export automatically includes the small “© OpenStreetMap contributors” credit in the corner — that attribution satisfies the license, so you can post, monetize and resell your videos.

Where does the rendering happen?

Entirely in your browser. Your route, photos and exports never leave your machine — our servers only store project files when you choose to save them.

Which browsers can export video?

Chrome and Edge are fastest (hardware encoding). Recent Safari versions work too; for browsers without WebCodecs we fall back to a slower built-in encoder, and GIF export works everywhere.

Do the car and train routes follow real roads?

Routes are smooth, organic stylized paths between stops — they read beautifully at travel-video zoom levels. Real road-snapped routing is on the roadmap.

How much does it cost?

Building and exporting are free forever — free videos carry a small “maproute.app” mark. Your first clean (mark-free) export is free when you sign in. After that, remove the mark with a credit pack (3 for €4 or 10 for €12 — credits never expire) or go Pro for unlimited clean exports at €12/month or €59/year (save ~59%).

What's the maximum route length?

Up to 30 stops per project. GIF exports are capped at 15 seconds; MP4/WebM have no hard duration cap.
